HOUGHTON -- A Chinese dragon and lots of good food were part of the celebration at the new location of Michigan Tech's office of International Programs and Services, Tuesday.

They’ve only moved up a floor in the Administration building, but the new I.P.S. office has more space and provides an opportunity for international students and scholars to mingle with American students interested in studying abroad.

New director, Thy Yang, says the office mainly helps international students adjust to the local culture and advises American students planning their travels.

“There is a definite growing interest among students to study abroad, and I think that's because they recognize that in order to be competitive, you have to have a broader perspective,” said Yang.

In addition to the food and fun, visitors got to vote on their favorite picture in the 2010 Huskies Abroad Photo Contest.
