Jury finds man guilty of domestic abuse

John Christopher Smith was found guilty of a third offense of domestic violence and interference with an electronic communication.

IRON MOUNTAIN -- An Iron Mountain man will be sentenced next month after a jury finds him guilty for domestic violence.

John Christopher Smith was found guilty of a third offense of domestic violence and interference with an electronic communication.

In July of 2009, Smith was arrested for assaulting a woman and then preventing her from calling for help.

Smith will be sentenced on February 16.

He could receive up to two years in prison.
