Garage destroyed, home saved from fire

At 7:45 Monday night, Negaunee City Firefighters were called to 220 Shoreline Road in Teal Lake Estates.

NEGAUNEE -- A fire destroys a garage in Negaunee, but the home has been saved.

At 7:45 Monday night, Negaunee City Firefighters were called to 220 Shoreline Road in Teal Lake Estates.  Flames were rolling out the front of garage at the home of Scott Lindenberg.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire, keeping it to the garage area.  A fire door from the garage into the home stopped the flames from spreading.

There were no injuries in the incident.

According to Negaunee Fire Officials, a heating appliance being used in the garage was the cause.

Damage to the garage, home and its contents is estimated around $100,000.
