MARQUETTE -- A man on the run from Texas police is in custody after being captured in Marquette County Wednesday morning.
The Marquette County Sheriff's Department reports that 22-year-old Christopher Michael Barton from Springfield, Massachusetts was arrested at the Marquette County Transit Authority building shortly after 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Authorities were alerted that Barton may be heading to Marquette by bus, and that he was wanted in Dallas, Texas for possession of methamphetamines.
Barton will be arraigned later Wednesday on a fugitive warrant and then will have the chance to waive or fight extradition to Texas.
