In honor of the national holiday this month, Planned Parenthood is collecting donations for domestic violence shelters in local communities throughout the month of January.
"When they leave their homes, whether with children or without children, they usually have nothing more then the clothes on their back, so they are indeed considered homeless, and anything that's donated on their behalves is going to be a benefit," said Harbor House executive director Merrilee Keller.
