The truck was reported stolen in September.
TILDEN TOWNSHIP -- Police braved frigid temperatures in search of a stolen truck Tuesday.
State Police divers located the truck shortly after 11 a.m. in Tilden Township.
The vehicle went missing in September, but through tips from the public, police were able to locate the vehicle.
The truck was submerged in 12 feet of water about 15 feet off the roadway. It took divers only minutes to locate the vehicle after entering the water.
"We came today and set up a quick hole. It's a pretty limited search area here, right off the road, and right next to the hole we cut lies this vehicle upside down, and today this is mild weather for us," said Steven Derusha of the Michigan State Police. "Everybody wants to be a diver in July. When we have the chainsaw out and it's bitter cold, these are long days usually. This went very well."
Police say they hope the search of the vehicle turns up evidence that might lead them to a suspect.
