The State Representative was diagnosed with multiple myeloma.
WALLACE -- A state lawmaker from Upper Michigan is hospitalized and battling cancer.
Democrat Judy Nerat of Wallace issued a statement Wednesday saying she has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer of the plasma cell.
The Menominee County resident said she has a "terrific team of doctors" at a Milwaukee hospital. Nerat said she plans to be back at work as soon as she is able.
She was elected to the State House last November representing the 108th District.
