King of Pop mourned around the world.
HOUGHTON -- His records sold millions. His shows sold out all over the world. And today his fans are mourning Michael Jackson--- the King of Pop who died unexpectedly at the age of 50.
Now, all that's left are his songs, from albums including Thriller, Off The Wall, Bad and Dangerous and a legacy of entertaining fans for four decades around the world through his songs and his dancing.
"Even as a child the talent was so immense and so extraordinary and so undeniable, that it couldn't be matched," said Copper Country native and recording artist PJ Olsson.
Olsson says Jackson and his producer, Quincy Jones, were leaders in making R&B sellable through ground-breaking collaborations with groups like Toto.
"When you start involving many races and many styles, you do it in such a way that it captures the listener the way it did; I think they really nailed it," he said.
Some people say they weren't huge Michael Jackson fans, but everyone knew at least one of the songs from his forty-plus-year career. And many say they learned a dance move or two from Jackson.
"I don't think you can grow up in my era without not being influenced by Michael Jackson's dancing", said Hancock resident, Justin Plichta. "But none of us could do it as well as he could."
With over 750 albums sold worldwide and 13 number one singles on the Billboard 100 chart, Michael Jackson's impact on pop music is undeniable.
