MARQUETTE -- There's a new and free way in Marquette to help people who've had or are still suffering from an illness.
Survivor Yoga is designed to help people who have been diagnosed with a disease or for caregivers and people who want to stay healthy.
The class is held every Sunday at the Marquette YMCA and helps survivors calm their fears over their illness through meditation, breathing techniques, and visualization.
"In my particular case, I'm recovering from cancer," says instructor Robert Wiesmann. "Yoga has helped with the anxiety, the fear, the stress involved with cancer. It's helped bring my focus in and not be able to go with all the fear that's involved with that."
The class is open for the general public every Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m.
