IRON RIVER -- The Northwoods Animal Shelter in Iron River received an unexpected surprise Monday night.

Twelve Chihuahuas were dropped off at the shelter to be put up for adoption.

The dogs are all purebred and originally came from a breeder in Gogebic County.

The dogs could no longer be cared for by the woman who took them in, so she decided to give them to the shelter to find good homes.

Anyone interested in adopting one of the dogs can contact the shelter at (906) 265-PETS.
