The 2008-2009 flu season has begun.

UPPER PENINSULA -- Flu season has officially arrived in Upper Michigan.

Health officials announced that the first confirmed case of influenza for the 2008-2009 season has been reported in Chippewa County.

Typically, flu season in Michigan peaks in February.

The Marquette County Health Department says it's not too late to receive a flu shot.

The vaccine is available for $25.

Appointments may be made by calling 906-475-7844.
