Congress is considering a bill that would push it back to June.
WASHINGTON DC -- The U.S. Senate is considering a bill that would delay the shutdown of analog television until June 12.
The current federally mandated shutdown is scheduled for February 17, but the incoming Obama administration has urged the delay because there are concerns too many Americans won't be ready for the conversion to digital TV.
The federal program subsidizing the cost of converter boxes for TV owners ran out of money earlier this month.
The House Commerce Committee is expected to take up a similar bill next week.
TV6 will proceed with plans to make the conversion to digital on February 17, until and unless the federal government changes the deadline.
