The Marquette Commons rink has been busy this winter.
MARQUETTE -- It may be a little cold outside for some this winter, but the skaters have been out on the ice at the Marquette Commons in increasing numbers.
Downtown Development Authority Director Mona Lang says as many as 100 skaters a day on the weekends have been using the outdoor rink, and when it gets too chilly, they can come inside to the warming hut from noon until 8 p.m.
"At that time, the fireplace is on, there's music, and it's staffed. We make sure that the ice is goomed," said Lang.
She emphasizes that skaters are welcome anytime at the rink.
