The recently-formed, Two Track Ramblers, are bringing bluegrass to downtown Marquette.
MARQUETTE -- The fiddle has become Jamie Kitchel's passion after years of playing the violin in orchestras and symphonies.
"It's the creativity, I think, and the freedom that bluegrass music gave me,” said Kitchel. “Just having that kind of freedom to just be creative and explore a whole different environment."
This passion for bluegrass is what led her and four other Marquette residents to take their jam sessions at home to the stage last year with their cover band, the Two Track Ramblers.
"We do some Bill Monroe, and we do some J.D. Crowe,” explained the band’s mandolin player, Brent Graves. “We throw in some Steve Earl, some Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash."
This band, which consists of the banjo, mandolin, bass and guitar, can rock out familiar tunes in their own unique way that audiences can't help but enjoy it.
"I just want them to have fun and see that we're having fun and get inspired that playing music together with people is fun!” Kitchel exclaimed.
Those interested to hear what the Two Track Ramblers have to offer can see the group perform on Friday, December 12, at Harley's in the Ramada Inn in downtown Marquette at 9 p.m.
