They were called out to Lambeau Field to pitch in.

GREEN BAY, WI (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers put out a call for people to shovel snow Thursday at Lambeau Field.

Facility operations director Ted Eisenreich says as many as 300 people were needed to remove snow before the Packers play Sunday against the Houston Texans.

Volunteers reported to the Mills Fleet Farm Gate on the stadium's west side starting at 10 a.m. Thursday.  Shoveling continued throughout the day.

Eisenreich says the Packers provided shovels and paid $8 per hour for the work.  They asked that volunteers be at least 15 years old.
