Congressman Stupak has been getting plenty of requests.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- If you were hoping to go to the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama, First District Congressman Bart Stupak might be able to help you, but don't count on it.

He's currently accepting ticket requests, but that'll stop on December 1 at 5 p.m.  And then you'll just have to cross your fingers.  Stupak, like other members of the U.S. House, was given only 198 tickets.

"Due to the very limited number of tickets available, I regret that the majority of people who have requested tickets will not receive them," said Stupak.  "However, my office will make every effort to allow as many northern Michigan residents as possible to take part in this historic day."

Those who are being given tickets will be notified by December 12.

Stupak warns residents to be very wary of online scams promising tickets to the inauguration.
