Michigan State Police completed sex offender sweep

Michigan State Police have completed a statewide sex offender sweep.

One-hundred-ninety-six non-compliant sex offenders were arrested and 682 additional arrest warrants were issued.

Operation Verify is aimed at increasing compliance with Michigan's sex offender law.

Convicted offenders are required to check in with police to verify their address.
