Airlines' combined networks should simplify travel.
SAWYER -- U.P. flyers will reap some benefits as the merger of Northwest and Delta Airlines takes off.
The combination makes the new Delta the largest airline in the world.
The Justice Department approved the $2.8 billion merger last week.
While not everyone in the travel business is thrilled with the deal, officials with Sawyer International Airport say it'll provide more points of travel for U.P. flyers.
"With Northwest, with a very solid route network in the industrial Upper Midwest, and Delta, of course, a very strong network into the southeast," said Sawyer Airport Manager Keith Kaspari.
A federal lawsuit could still ground the deal.
