MARQUETTE -- U.P. residents enjoyed the last day of the Autumn Comforts Quilt Show in Marquette.

The Quilt Show is only thrown every two years, and the Marquette County Quilters Association had over 200 quilts featured at this year's show.

Organizers say the event, which was held both Saturday and Sunday, saw a great turnout, which they attribute to offering more than what's expected.

"These are not necessarily all bed quilts," stated Alice Johnson co-chair of the Quilt Show.  "Some of them have been made into handbags or jackets and there are also wall hangings that are quilted in different styles and techniques."

Residents could also buy from the local vendors that were there and participate in a raffle the association was holding.
