ISHPEMING -- UPDATE: 11 p.m.
Officials say, most likely, a piece of metal was caught in the auger. The auger feeds the sawdust into the silo causing sparks which lead to the fire.

UPDATE: 12 p.m.
Firefighters finished putting out the fire early this morning around 1:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported and officials say because sawdust is very explosive, they are currently removing it from the facility.

UPDATE: 9:30 p.m.
The fire is still smoldering. Firefighters will continue to monitor the situation and take another look in the morning. Officials say it's a concrete silo and damage is minimal, although production was shut down for the day. There were no injuries.

Ishpeming firefighters were called out to a silo fire at the Robbins Flooring Mill on Friday morning.
The fire broke out in the silo at about 10 a.m. on Friday morning. The silo is used to store waste sawdust and has safety measures to douse sparks inside the silo with water.
It is unclear at this point exactly what caused the fire. Ishpeming crews were still attempting to put out the fire as of 3 p.m. in the afternoon.
