SAULT STE. MARIE -- Another soldier from the eastern U.P. has died in Afghanistan.  Army Specialist Brandon Steffey died Sunday in a roadside bombing.

Funeral services are being planned for the 23-year-old who grew up in Sault Ste. Marie.

Steffey joined the Army in 2006.  He served two tours of duty as a K-9 handler.  He was interviewed just last week for a military news article about K-9 units in the military.

Earlier this month, Christopher Griffin of Kincheloe was killed near the Pakistani border.

Having a son in Iraq we know of the stress and uncertainty a deployment brings and grieve with you at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family...The Ekdahl's
