One person dies in Marquette Township fire

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP -- A structure fire erupted early Thursday morning on Moran Street in Marquette Township causing the death of an adult subject.  

Traffic in the area was being blocked as the Marquette Township Fire Department fought the blaze.  Police officers were stationed on Ontario Street to divert traffic.

The fire was reported at 5:15 a.m. at 2262 Moran Street.

When the Marquette Township Fire Department arrived on the scene, the house was fully engulfed. Mediride EMS, Michigan State Police and Marquette City Police also responded to the scene.
