IRON MOUNTAIN -- Wednesday, all of Central Elementary in Iron Mountain took a walk down to St. Vincent's to bring their donated canned goods as part of the 30th Anniversary of the TV6 Canathon.

The elementary school has been a part of the Canathon for 23 years.  The school traditionally begins the food drive on November 1, and then they bring the donated items to St. Vincent's on Thanksgiving eve.

"It's just awesome that we can walk over here; we have a long train of students, and the staff at St. Vincent de Paul is always so appreciative when we get here," said second grade teacher, Maria Basanese.

Every year students, staff and parents donate over 2,000 food items.  The class that collected the most items will win a pizza party.
