The crime happened in August

GLADSTONE -- A 33-year-old Gladstone man who crashed a stolen vehicle into the Gladstone Public Safety Department in August was sentenced Monday in Delta County Circuit Court.

Robert John Anderson was sentenced to serve 12 months for count two:  unlawfully driving away; count three:  possession of a controlled substance; and count four:  resisting and obstructing a police officer. All are felonies. The sentences will run concurrent.

He'll get credit for 110 days served and will be placed on two years probation for all charges except for count five:  operating while intoxicated. For that charge, he was put on two years probation and also will serve 93 days in jail with credit for 93 days already served.

"I want to go through all the proper steps I need to with counseling, and now I have to figure out why I’ve been acting the way I have. That’s my main goal," says Anderson.

Count one:  malicious destruction of a vehicle, was dismissed.

Anderson was ordered to pay a total of $2,222.27 in fines and restitution.
