MARQUETTE -- It was a long campaign season for Cheryl Hill, but now the new Marquette County Probate Court Judge has her eyes set on the future.

Hill was back in the courtroom Thursday morning working in her current job as the Chief Assistant Prosecutor, but, not for much longer.

She will head down to Lansing next week for judge school and to get fitted for her robe.

Hill is crediting her win on her hard work, in and out of the court room.

"I just knew that I worked as hard as I possibly could.  I got our to meet everybody I possibly could and, I thought, well, I ran a good campaign, win or lose. I was very proud of my effort and I was so pleased to meet so many members of our community," said Hill.

The new Probate Court Judge will be sworn in the last week of December and will officially begin hearing cases January 1. Hill replaces retiring Marquette County Probate Judge, Michael Andregg.
