MARQUETTE -- Traffic in South Marquette was slowed down Wednesday morning after a minor accident on Shiras Hill. Around 8:45 a.m., Marquette City Police officers responded to the area of US-41 and Tonti Road.

A vehicle southbound on US-41, driven by a 32-year-old Skandia man, struck a vehicle attempting to make a left turn on to US-41 from Tonti Road. That vehicle was driven by a 25-year-old female from Marquette.

The female and her three-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries. The Marquette City Fire Department and Marquette General EMS assisted at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation. Traffic was reduced to one lane in each direction for about half an hour.
