HANCOCK -- With snow finally on the ground, winter sports activities are now well underway.

For those who aren't partial to skiing or snowboarding, sledding is a popular option.  There are, however, some hazards with sledding if you aren't careful, especially with younger children.

The most important thing is to keep on eye on young ones when there are a lot OF people on the hills.

"Make sure there's nothing obstructing their run. You don't want them to run into a tree, or maybe keep the little ones away from the little bit bigger ones, like the teenagers, because everybody likes to do it," said Hancock Police Chief, Michael Beaudoin.

For those older kids, Chief Beaudoin says to know your limits and watch for other sledders.
