ELLSWORTH -- An Ellsworth based business that sells all Michigan made products is now being used by the Pure Michigan campaign.

Mi Farm Market, a family owned and operated business, started small inside of a two-car garage selling for 12 vendors. In  just two years it has greatly expanded to nearly 100 Michigan food and craft vendors.

In August, they opened up their second location in Traverse City, inside of The Village at Grand Traverse Commons.  There they were able to expand their business to Michigan made chocolates and frozen treats including ice cream, and gelato.

What sets this small business apart, is that customers can visit either of the two locations to shop, or they can order online.

They package and ship all over the nation, and have also shipped to three other countries.

Not only does this business do good for the entire state, it also helps out the Ellsworth community.

Most recently they have partnered with area schools to start fund raising programs, in order to promote Michigan made products. It allows for the students to receive a larger profit, than with national corporate companies.

It's also helped save a local post office.

Michigan Farm Market is now featured on Pure Michigan's website for their gift boxes. The boxes are made and shipped by the small business too.

"The thing that intrigues me most right now is the idea of things like farm to school and food distribution and food logistics," said Co-owner, Scotty Bruce. "How can we get locally produced products not only food and gift crates into the hands of Michigan tourists and Michigan locals, and people from all over the country but how can we make it to where Michigan products are being utilized in everyday life?"

Bruce and his business hope to have some of these new ideas up and running by sometime in the year 2013.
