A section of M-28 in Chippewa County was closed Wednesday night after a semi collided with a passenger vehicle.

The accident happened around four Wednesday afternoon. Officials say there are injuries, but police are still on the scene so not many details have been released.

M-28 is closed between M-123 and M-221 near Brimley. Barricades are up and law enforcement is directing traffic. Authorities say the semi carrying 25 ton steel rolls lost its load and damaged the highway.

The road will be closed until further notice. We'll pass along more information as it becomes available.
