MARQUETTE -- The change in status for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will have them paying some $4 million a year in local property taxes.

Two point six million dollars ($2.6 million) would go to cash-strapped Detroit. The rest would be for offices around the state, including the one in Marquette.

The change for the "blues" is not official yet.

The legislature and Governor Rick Snyder have yet to sign off on the proposed overhaul.
