GLADSTONE -- January 22 will mark the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.

The Knights of Columbus in Gladstone are organizing a local march, and they're inviting the public to learn about their cause.

This Sunday at 1 p.m. they'll hold a 'March for Life' event around the block of All Saint's Church in Gladstone. During the event, Father Timock will lead participants in prayer.

Organizers say anyone from the public is welcome to attend and support the right to life for unborn babies.

"We're trying to make more people aware of what's happening and what's going on in this country," said Gary Chouinard of the Gladstone Knights of Columbus. "The government should realize what is really going on and what's happening in these abortion clinics. It is very important that we join up as a community to focus on something that's happening."

A national march will be held in Washington, D.C. on January 25.
