MUNISING -- The Munising Downtown Development Authority is offering some incentives to residents who shop locally this holiday season.
It's called the Rekindle the Spirit Grand Giveaway. The DDA is offering a raffle drawing for two big screen TVs and a Kindle Fire. To enter, just bring in a receipt with a $50 purchase or higher from any Alger County business.
The incentive started on Black Friday, and you have until December 20 to enter at the Fuzzy Boyak Welcome Center in Munising.
"We want to tell people thank you for shopping local, and that's probably the whole bottom line of it is thanks for shopping local and here's possibly a Christmas present for you for doing so," said Kathy Reynolds of the Munising DDA.
Last year the giveaway brought in over $137,000 in receipts. As of Wednesday, the DDA reports more than 1,500 entries for this year.
