MARQUETTE -- It's hard to remember a time when the entire world was at war and harder still to imagine a military assault on U.S. soil.

Joe Meni, a 93-year-old retired corporal in the Second Air Command Armory Division, sat down with TV6 to reminisce about the attacks on Pearl Harbor. Meni originally was drafted prior to any U.S. involvement in World War II. But after the onslaught in Hawaii, he was promptly sent to serve in Dhaka, India.

We here at TV6 feel we owe a debt of gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives in the world's darkest hour, especially today, the 71st anniversary of the day that will live in infamy.
