ISHPEMING -- With Christmas right around the corner, you have an opportunity to help make one U.P. family's holiday a little brighter. The Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce is, again, partnering with the Salvation Army to adopt a family.

The family creates a wish list of holiday gifts and other items they need. The GINCC will accept the donated items and wrap them for the family in time for the holidays.

"The people of the Upper Peninsula are incredibly generous and especially during the holiday season, the winter season," said Elizabeth Peterson, Executive Director of the GINCC. "I think we see people really step up and help their neighbors. It's nice to know that we live in a community where we really are all taking care of each other."

The items need to be brought to the chamber of commerce, located at 910 US-41 West in Ishepming, by December 12. For the family's complete wish list click here.
