ISHPEMING -- It was a snowy wake-up call for U.P. residents Monday morning--lots of snow.  Although plow trucks were out cleaning up, roads were still a bit nasty. In Ishpeming and Negaunee, roads were snow covered and slick.

Residents were snowblowing and shoveling their way to clear a path for the car and walking.  Some early risers were working in the dark Monday morning, while others tackled the job a bit later.

This winter snow is likely to be with us for awhile.

"We had that little snow squall in November and then it went away right away, so hopefully it's here to stay," said Ian Spiroff of Ishpeming.

"I love a heavy snow winter; I'm glad it's here.  It could be worse--it could be a flood or something other than the snow. At least the snow, we can move around," added Ishpeming resident, Staci Spencer.

For those non-snow lovers, at least it was a light snow, not heavy and wet.
