Snow is likely across Upper Michigan for parts of the next few days, but then it looks like we could see a repeat of last week's cold temperatures and persistent lake effect snow after Wednesday.

For Sunday, temps will be mild in the low 30s. Many spots should reach above freezing, at least for a little while. Some flurries are possible east, especially near Lake Michigan with a south wind, but not much, if any, accumulation. There should even be some intermittent sunshine west. For skiers in the Marquette area for the Noque, conditions are looking pretty good!

Sunday night will see more snow with a low pressure system coming in from the south. That is the same system that is causing trouble for much of the Midwest with freezing rain, but when it reaches the U.P., we should only see some widespread snow. It could bring a few inches Sunday night into Monday morning. With a continued south wind, Sunday's lows will only fall to the mid 20s.

Monday will be warmer with highs in the mid 30s. Snow is likely in the morning, especially east, but it should clear away for much of the afternoon until another system moves in at night to bring more snow for Tuesday, which will also be warm.

Wednesday will see a change after a cold front passes. Lake effect snow is likely for Wednesday through next weekend under a persistent northwest wind. That same wind will make it very cold for Thursday and Friday.
