MARQUETTE -- The last rehearsal for the Nutcracker Ballet was held Thursday night at the Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette. A cast of 100 dancers has been perfecting their performance ahead of Friday night's opening.

Each dance organization in the area is represented in the show. Special guests are lined up as well; Marquette Mayor John DePetro and State Representative John Kivela will be performing as well.

"This is the third time we've put on the Nutcracker, and it's the best one we've ever put on by far," said Camilla Mingay, Director for the Nutcracker. "The dancers, because they've been in it before, so they've developed more and we also have some other dancers that have come out of retirement for the production."

The Nutcracker opens Friday at 7 p.m. at the Kaufman Auditorium. Another performance is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m.
