MARQUETTE -- It's the first week of summer for many kids, and N.M.U. has a great opportunity for youngsters looking for something to do.

The Wildcat Kids Camp kicked off Monday morning at the P.E.I.F. on campus. The 11-week program runs Monday through Friday for kids ages five to ten.

On Monday, they were busy making bracelets before heading outside to enjoy the warm weather.

Kids can be dropped off as early as 6:45 a.m. and stay until 5:30 p.m.

N.M.U. students serve as counselors and say the camp provides a variety of fun summer experiences.

"Throughout the day from 9 to 4 is our activity time when we're either in the gyms doing something or we have an hour for swimming in the pool everyday, and once a week we rock climb and sometimes go ice skating," said camp counselor Eddie Bollman.

There's also a Tween Camp for kids in sixth grade and older.

For more information about the programs, call the P.E.I.F at 227-2519.
