MARQUETTE -- In local politics, candidates for office in Marquette County sounded off in a forum Monday night at the Peter White Public Library. Each candidate laid out their platforms in front of the audience and answered questions from them as well. Those in attendance said the event was a good opportunity to get to know who they're voting for.

"Generally I'm very impressed with seeing the candidates here and that they were willing to come up and go up there and answer any question that was thrown at them," said Marquette resident, Eeva Miller. "It really does take some guts, so we really have some very good people that are going to be running here."

The forum was organized by one of the candidates, Mike Quayle, who is running for the Marquette county board. Just a reminder, election day is November 6.
