L'ANSE -- Water customers in the Village of L'Anse are under a boil advisory as of Monday evening.

A water main broke on Monday afternoon at Waterfront Park when workers were replacing a hydrant. L'Anse residents should boil their drinking water for five minutes until further notice.

Pressure is expected to be re-established in the next 24 hours.

Due to the water main break, L'Anse Area Schools, Sacred Heart School and BHK Child Development in L'Anse will be closed Tuesday.

Officials will be taking a sample of water at 1 a.m. on Wednesday, after which the schools will decide if they will be in session.

The water main was fixed on Monday night.
