SILVER CITY -- The "Snowburst" is back at the Porkies.

This weekend, winter sports lovers are invited to participate in everything from a snowshoe race to a lantern lit cross-country ski and snowshoe hike.

The family-friendly event starts at 9 a.m. at the Porcupine Mountain Ski Hill in Ontonagon County's Silver City.

"We've all come together to bring this event back to our community.  It's taken a lot of work over the past month and we're still working out details, but we're well on our way to make a great event again, the way it used to be," said co-event coordinator, Rick Varecha.

The night will end with a fireworks display.  For more information on the event, click here.
