ELY TOWNSHIP -- A crash slowed traffic on US-41 in Ely Township on Monday morning.

At around 8 a.m., police and fire officials responded to the intersection of US-41 and Marquette County Road 478. The accident involved a mini-van and a pickup truck.

According to police, the driver of a Dodge Ram pickup truck, identified as 81-year-old Thomas Junak, pulled out in front of a Dodge station wagon travelling on US-41. The driver of the station wagon, 61-year-old Fern Johnson, received minor injuries.

Traffic was reduced to one lane on US-41 while crews cleaned up the scene.

The Ishpeming Township fire and police departments and the Michigan State Police were all at the scene. Police stated that road conditions were not a factor.
