MARQUETTE -- It was a sight to see at the Northern Michigan University hockey game Saturday night. Not only were pucks thrown on the ice but socks went right along with them.

It was a fundraiser put on by students from Marquette Alternative High School.

Hockey fans were asked to bring in a new pair of socks to throw onto the ice.

The socks will be donated to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Marquette for people in need.
