They reopened last year

ESCANABA -- A popular family-run Italian restaurant that was opened in 1972, but closed in 2006 when the owners retired, was reopened last year and is now celebrating its one year anniversary.

Crispigna's in Escanaba has a menu that's described as modern Italian-American, but it also includes old Crispigna's favorites.

Many people say they're especially drawn to the homemade sauces.

Friday, they'll offer their most popular item:  their steak and spaghetti dinner.

“I think between us and Ferdinand’s, we're the only fully ethnic-type restaurant in town,” explains owner, Andy Crispigna. “Everywhere else is either breakfast, lunch, and dinner.”

The owner says he's especially proud that the customers have stayed loyal and continue to come back for the same delicious meals.
