MARQUETTE -- Softball in the Superior Dome is coming back to Marquette again this year.  It's a men's slow pitch softball tournament starting Thursday.

The four-day event is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics Area 36.  The tournament will also commemorate Mick Campbell, a past organizer who passed away last year.

Twenty-four teams from all around Michigan and surrounding states will be competing.  All spectators are welcome to watch for free.

"It's a wonderful benefit for the community of Marquette.  The hotels, the restaurants, the bars all benefit from having all these folks come to Marquette," said Tournament Co-Chair, Merilee Keller.

The tournament is in need of some volunteers.  To learn how you can help or donate to Area 36, click here.
