Many football fans decided to have their Super Bowl parties at local bars

MARQUETTE -- Restaurants and bars across the area were full of fans for Sunday's Super Bowl.

Stucko's Bar and Grill in Marquette had its fair share of those fans for the game. The Ravens and 49ers could be seen on every screen. Most in the bar were likely Packers or Lions fans, but many agree that when it comes to the Super Bowl, it's not so much about what teams are playing so much as it is about tradition.

"I think it's the excitement. I think it's that it's a once-a-year event. It's almost like a holiday you plan for. You know it's the big day, you don't actually care who is playing, you just know that it's a special event. People are getting together, they're talking about it, they're having fun," said Deborah McNeill, a Packers fan who was rooting for the 49ers.
