HOUGHTON -- The Michigan Tech hockey team will be having an intrasquad game this Saturday at Dee Stadium in Houghton.

The Huskies do not have a regular season game this weekend. To stay prepared for games, the team thought it would be good to play a game in a realistic setting.

Fans are encouraged to come out to the game and meet the Huskies. Admission is a canned food item that will be donated to local food pantries.

The Huskies say the game will be a great way to meet people in the community.

"It's nice to get out in the community and be around a little bit more," said MTU Huskies' Assistant Coach, Damon Whitten. "You know, we'll get away from the MacInnes air a little bit, back to to the Dee Stadium where a lot of history with Michigan Tech is. And then the skate after will be great to be able to get out there with the kids and let them skate with our guys."

After the game, the Huskies will stick around to meet fans and sign autographs.
