Snowmobiler injured on Lake Gogebic

LAKE GOGEBIC -- A 35-year-old Iowa man is hospitalized after a snowmobile accident on Lake Gogebic Friday afternoon.

State Police say his snowmobile hit an ice heave. Witnesses say the man went about ten feet in the air, was separated from his snowmobile, and came down hard on the ice.

He was unconscious for a couple of minutes. He was taken to Aspirus Grand View Hospital in Ironwood. His name and condition have not been released.
