MARQUETTE -- On Friday, Robert Allan Wallace appeared in Marquette County court for a preliminary hearing.

On January 5, officials say Wallace pulled a knife out while talking with a nurse in the emergency waiting room at Marquette General Hospital.

Wallace is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and felonious assault. He waived his preliminary hearing Friday.

Wallace and his attorney are attempting to negotiate with the county prosecutor. He faces up to five years in prison.

Wallace's next court appearance is scheduled for January 25 in circuit court.
