EBEN -- It's a three-quarter-mile trek through ice and snow to get to the Eben Ice Caves, but once you're there, the hike is well worth it.

During this time of year as it starts to snow, the running spring water freezes and the ice starts to form.  In some spots the ice is as thick as six feet. Many people choose to bring their whole family to the caves.

"There's no shortage of things to do in the northwoods, and my wife found out about it through word of mouth, and this is definitely one not to miss. It's definitely not an easy trail, but it's definitely well worth it," said Ben Tyriver, visitor.

February tends to be the best time to see the ice caves.
